Bianca Perez
It all began in 1993 when I was born — a proud 90s baby raised on cartoons, wacky commercials, comics, weird toys, and the rawness of radical human expression.
Hi, I’m Bianca Perez, a Mexican-American graphic designer, cartoonist, illustrator, visual storyteller, and brand strategist based in Chicago. I work across animation, comics, branding, merchandise, print, and digital media, with a style shaped by 90s cartoons, lowbrow art, pop surrealism, underground comix, and the bizarre beauty of our world.
Binkz.art is where I share the process behind building a creative life and studio from the ground up: the sketches, experiments, character designs, comics, content, behind-the-scenes mess, and creative problem-solving that goes into making something human. It’s part portfolio, part process diary, part “watch me figure this out in public.”
My original creative universe lives under Miracle Brain Studio, where I develop character-driven stories, comics, animations, art toys, merch, about weird little creatures, centered on mental health, identity, dark humor, satire, and the persistance of the underdog. My goal is to make work that feels funny, strange, honest, and human, saying big things through bizarre little dudes. It’s characters and stories made for kids stuck inside adult bodies who yearn for more.
I also offer creative services through Pitch Bakehouse, where I help artists, creators, and brands shape stronger pitches, visual identities, brand strategy, story-driven design systems, marketing campaigns, and ads. I love helping people figure out what they’re trying to say, who they’re trying to reach, and how to make their ideas easier to understand, remember, and connect with.
Over the years, I’ve won the Perfect Pitch Bootcamp contest hosted by Tina Price and CTN, pitched to industry directors including Alessandro Carloni, Sergio Pablos, and Dean Wellins, and earned a pitch meeting with Netflix. I’ve also been part of Rise Up Animation, Latinx in Animation, Women in Animation, and a mentorship circle with Oscar Lemus, writer on Phineas and Ferb and a mentorship circle with Dave Palmer, creative director of Blues Clues. Those experiences taught me a lot about pitching, story, creative development, and how much clarity matters when you’re trying to bring a weird little idea into the world.
Right now, I’m focused on building a body of work that connects all sides of what I do: design, storytelling, comics, animation, content, branding, and creative strategy. Whether I’m developing my own characters, designing merch, creating campaign graphics, writing scripts, or helping another creator or brand sharpen their pitch or image, I’m always chasing the same question:
What’s the story, why does it matter, and how do we make people care?
